Great Aussie Pie Competition
Entering a gluten free pie into The Great Aussie Pie Competition against 4,000 other pies may sound like a long-shot to many people, but our very own Silly Yaks has not only entered, they have won a bronze medal in the poultry section with their delicious Chicken, Leek & Mushroom Pie!
The competition has been run for nearly 20 years and is done so as part of a proud Australian tradition and entrenched love for the humble pie. With today’s shift towards healthy eating and clean recipes, it’s fantastic to see the evolution of our iconic pastry. As quoted from today’s Epicure, “It’s a great day for people with gluten intolerance when a wheat-free product can stand alongside the conventional and be judged equal or superior in taste and texture.
